Kemyze is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- It is a member of the Sha Elden Lith Kindriu in the Gerockne Subsector of Gzirr!k'l Sector.
- This world is a colony of Quilak (Gzirr!k'l 0733).
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]
History & Background[edit]
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Kemyze has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Kemyze has a population of 800,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
- Lithkind, 95%
- As with any Lithkind world, society is split between separate, complimentary male and female settlements, divided by the "Crimson Wall", both a physical and a conceptual divide.
World Languages[edit]
World Government (G)[edit]
Kemyze has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
This world is governed from Quilak.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Kemyze has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Law emphasizes settlement between individuals and clans rather than state authority. Because of their belief in reincarnation, Lithkind have been known to continue blood-debts and blood-feuds that last centuries. In an effort to control bloodshed, a justified blood-feud (known as an ariseth) is legally recognized if registered with local government bodies.
In Lithkind society, almost everyone carries some form of weapon, even if it's only a ceremonial knife or needler.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Kemyze possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-2.

World Culture[edit]
At the heart of the Lithkind belief system is faith in reincarnation. When a child claws its way from the mother's womb, it is assumed to be the reincarnation of its father (if male) or mother (if female). When the litter is larger, it is assumed that the souls have "split" among the children -- this is a good sign, showing that the parents' souls have grown in strength.
Many Lithkind are believers in Xyastra, a complex astrological and necromantic system, in which sympathetic magic is supposedly used to alter probability.
