The name applied to a void region within Vanguard Reaches Sector. The area around the Helix Nebula is largely devoid of star systems, making access to Iphigenaia Sector, to rimward, a difficult prospect.
The Helix Rift borders the Idella Rift and the Altarean Confederation.
