Hak'tha is a barren desert world with no overt population, government, or law level.

  • Warning: Humans are not welcome within Sath-controlled areas. Those few humans that venture into their territory are generally met with a hostile reception and are closely monitored at all times.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]

Ka Sa-kaa–Hak'tha System[edit]

The primary is Ka Sa-kaa, a huge red giant star. It has a luminosity of 1918 Sols, a mass of 7.18 Sols, and a diameter of 271.3 million km – the star's corona extends to 0.9 AU, just within orbital position (IV). The inner system consists of (IV) a large extremely hot gas giant orbiting close to the surface of the star, (V) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (VII) a sparse rocky planetoid belt, (VIII) a corrosive atmosphere inferno world, and (IX) a thin atmosphere bigworld – orbital positions (I) to (III) lie within the star and orbital position (VI) is empty. (X) Hak'tha orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (XI) a large gas giant, (XII) a large gas giant, (XIII) a trace atmosphere iceworld, (XIV) a small gas giant, and (XV) a small ringed ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(X) Hak'tha[edit]

(X) Hak'tha is designated the mainworld and orbits Ka Sa-kaa at a mean distance of 41.2 AU (6.16 billion km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 98 years 253 days and a rotation period of 38.5 hours. The axial tilt is 12 degrees. Hak'tha has a diameter of 7,795 km, a density of 4.79 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.53 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, with a mean surface pressure of 0.64 bar and a composition of 80% nitrogen, 19% oxygen, and 1% argon, carbon dioxide, neon and other trace gases. Approximately 3% of the surface is covered in lakes of liquid water. Mean surface temperature: 30°C. The atmosphere is active and moderate weather systems, driven by the star, work across the globe. The climate is seasonal and weather patterns follow regular cycles during the local year.

Satellites[edit]

Hak'tha retains two natural satellites, a pair of vacuum moons named Iikh and Chii'chi:

(Xa) Iikh (UWP Y100000-0, orbiting at 25 Diameters/195,000 km).
(Xb) Chii'chi (UWP G201000-0, orbiting at 30 Diameters/234,000 km).

Mainworld geography and topography[edit]

Total surface area: 191 million km², Land surface area: 185 million km², Water surface area: 6 million km².

Native lifeforms[edit]

Hak'tha has extensive but primitive native life, entirely consisting of extremophile cyanobacteria-parallels able to live anywhere that they can find even a minimal trace of liquid water. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Hak'tha has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World technology level[edit]

Hak'tha possesses a Technology Level of TL–0.

  • These worlds often contain a Proto-Sophont species beginning to establish a nascent civilization and society.
  • This world is in its Alpha Period and has not yet been interfered with by a higher technology civilization.
  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Bodily communicative apparati, courier-runners, and smoke signals.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Bodily muscle.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Bodily locomotion, riding beasts, and litters or sedan chairs.
    • Water: Swimming, rafts, and canoes.
    • Air: Typically not available unless a bodily ability.

World government[edit]

Hak'tha has no central government for the world, an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
