The Glorious Leader class Grav Tank is a Gravcraft.
- It is a military vehicle and a Grav Tank.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Grav Tank, TL-11: The Glorious Leader's Grav Tank is very fast and can just fit within a standard Air/Raft hanger on a starship. They are sealed, they are fitted with life support and are equipped with powerful offensive weapons systems capable of dealing with all kinds of threats. The hull armor is better than "starship" standards and is able to resist the hostile environmental effects of radiation and vacuum. While they are tough and durable, Grav Tanks are plagued by mechanical issues.
This vehicle is heavier and more expensive than the related GLAPeC design. The hull is up-armored, and the power plant and grav plates are twice the size and cost, necessary to support the mass of the additional armor. The design's electronics, while basic and of generally low quality, are improved with the addition of target acquisition LADAR. The vehicle is noted for its inability to cope effectively with multiple infantry targets, a characteristic that has been exploited by some enemies.
The vehicle has a crew of three (driver, gunner and commander). It mounts a stabilized 26.39 Megawatt-input Plasma Gun with TL 11 direct fire control in a turret mount on the chassis deck.
Basic Vehicle Characteristics[edit]
Following the Imperial Army and IISS Universal Vehicle Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the vehicle when applicable. Tonnage on the universal vehicle profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary.

Chassis:[edit]
- Height: 1.5m (+0.5m turret); Width: 4m; Length: 10m.
- Total usable volume: 56m³
- Total mass loaded: 260.317 metric tons
- Hull Material: Crystaliron
- Armor: Chassis front 55, turret (all faces) and chassis sides 50, chassis rear, belly and deck 40.
- Target Size DMs: +2 low, +0 high
- Production Cost: Cr4,911,127
Movement:[edit]
The Grav Tank has two different modes: Weapons Powered and Weapons Off.
Onboard gravitic generators produce 2.2 Gs in Weapons Powered mode and 3.2 Gs in Weapons Off mode.
- Speed:
- Weapons Off mode: Maximum, 2,280kph / 1,900cm; Cruise, 1,710kph / 1,425cm; NOE, 150kph / 125cm.
- Weapons Powered mode: Maximum, 1,424kph / 1,186cm; Cruise, 1,050kph / 875cm; NOE, 150kph / 125cm.
- Movement effect on fire: None
The vehicle is equipped with a full TL 11 avionics suite: the onboard sensors and electronics are considered to be of basic quality and are known for suffering faults and glitches. Vehicles purchased by independent worlds are often retrofitted with better quality electronic equipment.
Weapons:[edit]
Full weapons stabilization.
Dorsal Turret[edit]
A 26.39 Megawatt-input Plasma Gun fitted with a TL 11 direct fire control mounted in a stabilized turret on the chassis deck.
- It is automatically spotted when it fires and can engage a single target.
Effective Range / Plasma Bolt |
Long Range / Plasma Bolt |
Extreme Range / Plasma Bolt |
251m (60) / 3m (44) | 450m (47) / 2m (31) | 800m (20) / 1m (4) |
The plasma gun input is optimized for peak penetration at effective range but its power draw significantly slows the vehicle. With the weapon off, the vehicle's movement characteristics improve.
TAC Missiles[edit]
There are four 125kg capacity TAC missile launch rails mounted on the sides of the turret. Four missiles are included in the price. They use a HEAP 59 warhead and have a 4km range.
Type | Range | Price |
Homing | 4 km | Cr544 |
Target Designated | 4 km | Cr644 |
IR Follow-up (+8 Penetration) | 4 km | Cr644 |
The heavy TAC missiles carry a large warhead but their usefulness is limited by their short range, and only four are provided per vehicle.
Power / Equipment:[edit]
- Power: 84 megawatt fusion power plant
- consumes 126 liters of fuel/ hour; fuel capacity 1,717.3 liters, enough for 13.6 hours.
- Sealed environment with extended life support for 3 (proof against CBR/NBC threats);
- 20x bottles of prismatic aerosol;
- Image enhancement and thermal image for vision blocks and night operations;
- map box;
- Power 10 Target Acquisition LADAR;
- 1000km range radio, 5km range Laser communication system.
1m³ / 1 ton cargo space.
Maintenance[edit]
- Vehicle 5
- Electronics 20
- Weapons 8
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
The standard grav tank employed within the Worlds of The Leader. Wherever formations of state troops are deployed, they will be supported by grav APCs. The basic hull is considered to be an excellent piece of engineering, though the internal systems are basic and of marginal build quality. The design is exported to many independent worlds within the Distant Fringe.
