GLAPeCs (Glorious Leader's Armored Personnel Carriers).

The ubiquitous personnel transport within the Worlds of The Leader. Wherever formations of State troops are deployed, they will be equipped with GLAPeCs. Though it is considered rather basic and of marginal build quality, the design is exported to many independent worlds within the Distant Fringe.

Grav APC, TL 11[edit]

GLAPeCs are very fast and can fit within a standard Air/Raft hanger on a starship. They are sealed, they are fitted with life support and are equipped with a light weapons suite to sustain protected forces operations. The hull is armored to "starship" standards in order to resist the hostile environmental effects of radiation and vacuum. While they are tough and durable, GLAPeCs are plagued by mechanical issues.

The vehicle has a crew of three (driver, gunner and commander) and can carry eight passengers. It mounts a "glitter cannon" – a 2 Mw Pulse Laser – in a fully stabilized mount in the front of the chassis.

Height: 2m; Width: 4m; Length: 7m.
Total usable volume: 56m³
Total mass loaded: 149.093 metric tons
Hull Material: Crystaliron
Armor: Chassis all faces 40.
Target Size DMs: +2 low, no high hits
Production Cost: Cr3,474,892

The GLAPeC has two different modes: Weapons Powered and Weapons Off.

Onboard gravitic generators produce 2.5 Gs in Weapons Powered mode and 2.6 Gs in Weapons Off mode.

Weapons Powered mode: Maximum, 1,680kph / 1,400cm; Cruise, 1,260kph / 1,050cm; NOE, 150kph / 125cm.
Weapons Off mode: Maximum, 1,770kph / 1,475cm; Cruise, 1,327kph/ 1,106cm; NOE, 150kph / 125cm.
Movement effect on fire: None

The vehicle is equipped with a full TL 11 avionics suite: the onboard sensors and electronics are considered to be of basic quality and are known for suffering faults and glitches. Vehicles purchased by independent worlds are often retrofitted with better quality electronic equipment.

Full weapons stabilization.

Front-Mounted Pulse Laser[edit]

There is a 2 megawatt input, 16 lens rapid pulse laser mounted in the front of the chassis.

  • It has a +4 DM to hit and can engage 8 targets. It rolls 8 dice versus indirect fire with its TL 11 point defense fire control.
Direct Fire Characteristics: Pulse Laser
Effective Range Long Range Extreme Range
250m (6) 500m (3) 2500m (1)

The pulse laser is optimized for point defense fire. It is largely ineffective as a weapon beyond light anti-personnel work.

Chassis Deck Remote Mount GL[edit]

A 4cm RAM Grenade Launcher is mounted in a remote mount on the chassis deck. The grenade launcher has some ability versus heavier targets, but at relatively short range. The non automatic weapon was selected as a cost saving feature.

  • It can engage one target and has a +2 signature.
Direct Fire Characteristics: 4cm RAM GL
Effective Range Long Range Extreme Range
370m (36) 750m (36) 1500m (36)

There is storage for 30 HEAP grenades.

TAC Missiles[edit]

There are two 20kg capacity TAC missile launch rails mounted on the sides of the chassis. They use a 17cm HEAP 50 warhead and have a 3 km range. Additional missiles can be carried in the cargo space.

Characteristics: HEAP Warhead Missiles
Type Range Price
Homing 3 km Cr339
Target Designated 3 km Cr439

The TAC missiles carry the heaviest warhead but suffer from short range. Only two are provided, making a sustained encounter with armored opponents problematic at best.

Power / Equipment:[edit]

Power: 40 megawatt fusion power plant
consumes 60 liters of fuel/ hour; fuel capacity 1,780.42 liters, enough for 29.6 hours.
  • Sealed environment with extended life support for 11 (proof against CBR/NBC threats);
  • 20x bottles of prismatic aerosol;
  • Image enhancement and thermal image for vision blocks and night operations;
  • map box;
  • 1000km range radio, 5km range Laser communication system.
  • 1m³ / 1 ton cargo space.
