Description

SR-612 or Scout Squadron 612 formed from scout vessels present at or based at Nurara Scout Base in Million Subsector in 1132. It was the second scout squadron attached to the 61st Fleet.

History

Formed in 1132 from IISS Exploration Branch ships. The Exploration branch ceased effective operations that year and its ships were organised for service aiding the Regency Navy. SR-612 was used to observe the movements of Vargr Corsairs and Warships from neighbouring states (United Followers of Augurgh and Dzarrgh Federate) and to provide reconnaissance and intelligence gathering operations outside RQD3. The impossibility of allowing its ships to re-enter Regency space meant that the maintenance of its vessels was problematic and the size of the squadron diminished over time.

The squadron had effectively ceased to exist by 1140.
