Description[edit]
Prior to the Abandonment, the Gabrael Navy was the System Defence Force based at the Highport of the Gabrael Starport. As such, the vessels were entirely supplied by Ling Standard Products.
With the Abandonment, the starport was slighted by the Regency Navy, and Ling Standard Products sought to recover the maximum assets from the withdrawal. Given that some people were to remain, the Gabrael Government bought 4 SDBs from LSP for system defence. These have been heavily modified and have had their communications and control systems altered to make them immune to Viral communications based attack.
The Gabrael Government also managed to procure a disused Type S class Scout/Courier (Christened the Archangel) and has tried to gain control of several merchant vessels and various Small Craft. In practice these now operate as Privateers and Blockade Runners under the vague direction of the Gabrael Navy.
Offices[edit]
The Gabrael Navy is commanded by an Admiral and each of the three main directorates is commanded by a Commodore.
The Gabrael Navy consists of three main directorates
- Operations Command
- Logistics Command
- Intelligence Command
Operations[edit]
With so few ships, the three directorates of the Gabrael Navy have found that any mission is a mixture of tasks from all three directorates. The main missions are:-
- Communications with the Imperium via Corfinium
- Communications with the United Followers of Augurgh
- Defence against the Aegzagangnthoegngvang including
Major Engagements[edit]
The Gabrael Navy has been involved in actions when the Aegzagangnthoegngvang have conducted equipment and slave raids against the neighbouring outpost planet of Kaesgus, and when they have raided Gabrael itself - primarily striking against the planets limited system defence capabilities and inserting or supplying or recovering covert surveillance/commando strike parties.
