Campaign:BTC/Asirrka Alexander
Description (Character)[edit]
Asirrka Alexander was a charismatic Human born in the Vargr Extents, but quickly becoming notorious within the Imperium as a daring (if not outrageous) Corsair and Buccaneer. His career was unexpectedly terminated by a heart failure when just 53 Imperial Years old.
Asirrka Alexander was never sufficiently committed to a family life to settle with any one partner. In many ways, his life was a child-like/childish taunting of the world - "Devil-may-care".
History and Background[edit]
Life[edit]
Asirrka Alexander appeared as a Corsair on the border of the Deneb Sector and Corridor Sector in the 990s and eventually died, in the early 1020s, of natural causes. His band was led by his ship - the Chronological Singularity. This evaded capture with ease and mounted successful raids against small traders and even the estates of Imperial Dukes. By 1022, there was a reward of MCr20 for his capture, or proof of his death. It was never collected.
His career included the theft of a 61st Fleet payroll from an Imperial Cruiser, the kidnapping of the youngest daughter of the Duke of Khouth and the destruction of an Imperial Battleship while in port for repair. He managed to waylay and rob nearly 20 separate Imperial Nobles over the course of his career.
The Imperium found his successes embarrassing - indeed the embarrassment of the Imperium appeared to be the primary objective of many of Asirrka's later raids. Such a successful commander attracted many adherents who attempted to emulate his daring feats against the Imperial Fleets. Few succeeded even once.
Asirrka's one uncharacteristic raid was mounted against the Droyne. Why this raid occurred, was never clear - but he was, thereafter, a declared enemy of all the Droyne in the region - who call him "Kistsyot" generally translated as "The Butcher".
Legend[edit]
Asirrka Alexander was revered by his followers, and there were (reputedly) many attempts to raise clones with his panache, luck and skill. These attempts all failed.
Despite being Human, the Vargr Corsairs from Tuglikki and Provence Sectors who pulled off a spectacular success that embarrassed the Imperium were compared to the exploits of Asirrka. n.b. Much of this success is attributed, by the Vargr, to the fact that both his primary Lieutenants were Vargr.
In Fiction[edit]
In the 1080s a new set of stories arose regarding Asirrka Alexander, recasting him as a comedy-character who travelled the borders - righting the wrongs of the Imperium and its evil Nobility with his magic ship and loyal mixed Human-Vargr band of followers. These were recorded and published on several worlds in the Vargr Extents and distributed, clandestinely, along the Imperial Border. While they gained some popularity amongst the non-Vilani Human populations, the fad had mostly died out by the late 1100s, killed by the prejudices of the Fifth Frontier War.
