Arlu is a large water world with very deep oceans and less than 1% of its land above sea level. The atmosphere is comfortably breathable. The system has a population in the hundreds of thousands, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Arlu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and a baronet. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. 100% of the world's population is the Minor Race Bwap. During the Long Night this world was named Sakhi.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

The naval base hosts elements of the 159th Fleet.

Stellar Data[edit]

Arlu has a solitary primary star.

History and Background[edit]

A Bwap colony specializing in crystal production. Most of the cities (pods) are built upon floating islands of a coral-like substance and a symbiotic relationship has developed between the Bwaps and the island ecology, in keeping with the principle of Wapawab. The Bwaps provide fertilizer for the many plants that grow within the coral and protection from the large ocean predators that like the soft coral underside. In return the ecology supplies food and protection. Each city dweller rubs itself in the island's sap thereby identifying themselves to the various natural island defenses so they remain inert while they pass through.

Although each Bwap community is generally classed as a "Religious Dictatorship", Arlu has been classified differently because each city or pod sends a chosen representative to a common council who then make all planetary decisions. In addition, the planetary law level refers to the openly accessible areas of the planet and not the extremely high law levels of the pods which are off-limits to any but those born there.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Arlu has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Tapawa has a population of 400,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population consists of Bwap.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly used here:

  • Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Imperium.
  • Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Imperium.
  • Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps.
