Firdausi, subsector D of Aldebaran Sector, is controlled by the Solomani Confederation.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Arguably, Firdausi itself is more important to the Confederation than the rest of the subsector combined. However, its internal politics sometimes weaken its position.

There is no overall 'subsector identity' although three star systems are members of the Grand United States of Quesada and so are culturally similar. Jump-2 trade between the States and Firdausi is extensive, but these worlds have little contact with the rest of the subsector. From Firdausi, a major trade artery runs trailing into Neworld Sector. Links with the powerful economies of Kukulcan Subsector, meanwhile, are maintained coreward through Palermo.

Subsector Summary: 1105[edit]

Firdausi, subsector D of Aldebaran contains 20 worlds with an estimated population of 19 billion, a per capita income of Cr9,175, and a total economy is BCr174,926. These worlds originate an interstellar trade of BCr5,729 through 18 starports (6 Class A, 6 Class B, 5 Class C, 1 Class D) employing 851,000 people. Driving this interstellar trade are five Agricultural (Ag) worlds, one Non-Agricultural (Na) world, one Pre-Agricultural (Pa) world, no Pre-Industrial (Pi) worlds, four Rich (Ri) worlds, and one Industrial (In) world. The governments in Firdausi maintain two Naval bases, and two Military bases. The average technology level is 10 (with most between 7 and 12). The highest technology level is 14 at Firdausi (Aldebaran 2707) and Acerbas (Aldebaran 3004).

Firdausi, subsector D of Aldebaran contains 27 stars and 233 identified planets; 14 monostellar systems, five binary systems, one trinary system, and no systems with four or more stars. 17 of the 20 systems (85%) have native gas giants. There are no Asteroid (As) belts, no Desert (De) worlds, four Garden (Ga) worlds, no Ice-capped (Ic) worlds, no Poor (Po) worlds, one Vacuum (Va) world, and one Water (Wa) or Ocean (Oc) world.

Firdausi has an estimated population of 19 billion distributed across three High population (Hi) worlds, no Moderate population (Ph) worlds, nine Non-industrial (Ni) worlds, five Low population (Lo) worlds, and no Barren (Ba) worlds. The highest population world is Firdausi (Aldebaran 2707). The population consists of 3 sophont groups including one native sophont.
