Qyarn is a poor, non-agricultural and industrial high-population hellworld with a billion or more sophonts who still struggle to survive in an inhospitable environment.

• Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes even hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants. Survivors often develop intense survival skills and tend to be grim realists.
• It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
• As an industrial world, this planet has well-developed manufacturing and processing industries. Manufactured goods are a major export item.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by Aslan sophonts located in the Akhlare Subsector of Dark Nebula Sector.

• This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
• This is a "Puzzle" world designated as an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.

History & Background (Dossier)

This is the adopted homeworld of Clan Tyesourla, who were exiled from the Aslan Hierate during the Cultural Purge for embracing aspects of Human culture. Over centuries, the clan has rebuilt much of its population base on Qyarn and has constructed new manufacturing facilities.

World Starport (St)

Qyarn has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Qyarn has a population of 8,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

Aslan architecture tends to the organic and the rounded. They favour artistry over efficiency in the design of their buildings -- every Aslan structure is different. Even in mass-produced housing, residents will strive to make their territory uniquely theirs.

• Since Aslan descend from predators and enjoy open terrain, their buildings often feature both open rooms of great size and a number of concealed rooms, balconies, hidden passageways and hideaways.

• The current leader of the planet -- and of the Tyesourla clan -- is a female Aslan overlord, Uitea. She succeeded her equally despotic predecessor in1093.
