Taroekh is a preindustrial world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.

  • As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This world is part of the Aslan Hierate, controlled by the Tlaukhu Bloc 2, composed of the Syoisuis clan, in the Aslani Subsector of Beyond Sector.

Description

History & Background (Dossier)

Taroekh has one odd feature that makes it much coveted.

  • The world was the victim, sometime in its past, of a meteoric collision with another sizeable body, possibly a huge iron meteorite.
  • The huge astrobleme this collision created contains the extensive nickel-iron remains of both the meteorite, and rich veins of crustal minerals that were unearthed.
  • The wealth in minerals is astounding, and the Syoisuis clan has taken extraordinary precautions in the wake of several clan wars to keep the world under their control.

World Starport

Taroekh has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

Population

900,000,000

Most of the population works away at the ore bodies, in primitive conditions at variance with the listed tech level.

World Languages

  • Trokh: The universal language of the modern Aslan monoculture.
    • Aslan Languages: Note that some Aslan clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.

Urbanization

Aslan architecture tends to the organic and the rounded. They favour artistry over efficiency in the design of their buildings -- every Aslan structure is different. Even in mass-produced housing, residents will strive to make their territory uniquely theirs.

  • Since Aslan descend from predators and enjoy open terrain, their buildings often feature both open rooms of great size and a number of concealed rooms, balconies, hidden passageways and hideaways.
