System Data
History & Background
World Starport (Sp)
Dazak has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)
Dazak has a population of 90,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics
- Lithkind, 95%
- As with any Lithkind world, society is split between separate, complimentary male and female settlements, divided by the "Crimson Wall", both a physical and a conceptual divide.
World Languages
World Government (G)
Dazak has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
Governance of this world is from Xyith Diadem.
A paired set of male and female bureaucratic ministries help govern this world.
World Law Level (L)
Dazak has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Technology Level (TL)
Dazak possesses a Technology Level of TL–13 or TL-D in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovideo recorders.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, prototype collectors, advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-4.
World Military
- Legion of Midnight (Infantry and Air-Space Transport, female)
- Legion of Starlight (Navy, male)
World Culture
At the heart of the Lithkind belief system is faith in reincarnation. When a child claws its way from the mother's womb, it is assumed to be the reincarnation of its father (if male) or mother (if female). When the litter is larger, it is assumed that the souls have "split" among the children -- this is a good sign, showing that the parents' souls have grown in strength.
Many Lithkind are believers in Xyastra, a complex astrological and necromantic system, in which sympathetic magic is supposedly used to alter probability.
