History and Background

Htaastea is often referred to as the "Aslan Barbary" by human ship crews. A dour world shrouded in nitrogen, sulfuric acid and hydrogen sulfide, it was settled to exploit its strategic position along the main trade route into Beyond Sector. It is also an impoverished world of clans down on their luck, only one step from exile to a remote frontier world. Many of the more desperate clans sell out to pirates, or are willing to prostitute themselves to other clans to do dishonorable actions that their employers/lieges do not want to be associated with. Many Tlaukhu clans have attempted to clean up the world in the past, hence the very high law level. Despite the severity of legal enforcement, these same clans usually fall under the sway of local fixers, tempted to take advantage of the worlds cheap, throwaway labor pool.

The world's nickname is derived from the large number of Aslan and human privateers that have a base on the world, offering their services to willing clans for an appropriate price.
