Mimu is a high-population world with a billion or more sophonts in population size. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.  The world has a colony on Ssi (Dagudashaag 0708). The world has a climate with temperatures at the upper range of human endurance.  This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Mimu Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Lancian Cultural Region and the Domain of Vland. Mimu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a count. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Mimu is located on the Vilani Main.

Mimu has a solitary primary star.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

Mimu is an old world. There is little continuing tectonic activity.

The Skiree Mar highlands are one of the more desolate of the world’s High Desert regions. Here is the geological formation called the Chee'mrskur Mikmui -- The World's Navel.

Native Sophont (NIL): S'mrii

It is the Homeworld of the S'mrii, an influential minor race.

History and Background

World Demographics

The Human presence on Mimu is primarily limited to the Human-owned port of Zandervoort (known as ‘Snakepit’ to the locals), a wild and lawless city-state in the highlands, where the atmosphere is thinner, and the temperature sufficiently low for Humans to be comfortable.

  • S'mrii: more than 70%
  • Kiakh'iee: less than 10%
  • Vilani: less than 10%
  • other Humaniti: less than 10%

Urbanization

Thirty-six billion S'mrii live in huge metroplexes on the forested margins of the world’s deeply-eroded ocean basins.

Cities include:

  • Triskskiss, population 7 billion
  • Chussria', 5.3 billion
  • Isstrakh, 4.9 billion
  • Kiarik, 4.2 billion
  • Zandervoort "Snakepit", 40 million, (Human enclave)

There are also the Canyon Cities, such as Mua and Ska'i; seemingly haphazard constructions retaining much of the character of S'mrii pre-sentient avian roosts.

Historical Data

Although Mimu was the site of a devastating nuclear war in -25,790 which almost annihilated the S'mrii, the world has long since been terraformed to its original verdant state.

World Timeline

  • (-25,790): Global thermonuclear war causes an apocalyptic event and the world's biosphere is devastated for thousands of years.
