The vessel is the size of a Light Cruiser, but designed to transport and support a small force of marine commandoes. The ship's weapons and defenses are unremarkable and secondary to the design's intended purpose. The four missile bays provide ortillery support missions for the forces planet-side. They have a single squadron of close air support fighters. These dual environment fighter craft are designed to protect the assault ship during landing and recovery missions as well as conduct combat sorties to interdict enemy COACC resources. The force is a small combined arms battalion, a small MAU. There is a company of grav tanks, a company of APC borne lift infantry, a single battery of artillery and a pair of command and control fire direction center grav sleds. Two small commando platoons (31 marines each) insert by assault capsules and are recovered by the ship's boats.

The Grand United States of Quesada Navy designed the Hussar Class Light Troop Transport, and used it during the Solomani Rim War.
