| 13. | Comments | The ground pressure is 9.8277752 tons/m2. The ground pressure reduces cross country speed, but the massive 40m³ suspension means that it will not become stuck or mire in snow, mud, sand or soft ground. The power to weight ratio with the mass driver engaged is 25 and 101 with the main weapon off. The vehicle' weight precludes bridges. Finding places where it can ford rivers is problematic. Its mass and inertia mean movement at maximum speeds can be disastrous if cornering is attempted. |
History & Background (Dossier)
There are two schools of thought for their tactical deployment; one camp prefers to mass the entire battery for large fire missions at extreme range. The other issues one vehicle to each infantry company for close direct and indirect fire support. They rely on the self propelled GEV MLRS fire direction systems to coordinate artillery fire orders. Their point defense envelop is the only platform in the Athune Fusilier Regiments.
