Nexus Fleet Forces

The Nexus Kandor Class Tankers were designed and are manufactured in the Nexus (Ha 1526) (world) system. Originally envisioned as much larger vessels, budget cuts and the maintenance burdens necessitated smaller hulls. They have a streamlined saucer hull capable of atmospheric operations and is fitted with fuel scoops for ocean refueling. They offer 3G acceleration, and 2 agility. They are armed with 20 triple missile turrets, 10 triple beam laser turrets and forty triple sand caster turrets for defense. The crew consists of 11 command, 14 engineers, 16 gunners, 5 flight, 14 service, and 7 security. They carry a pair of 40 ton fuel lighters for utility and surface interface. They are part of the Nexus Fleet Forces and mount a model 6 fib computer adjacent to the bridge with screens in the event of nuclear or meson beam attacks. This class accompanies the ships of the line, but is only capable of refueling the smaller vessels in one load. They are fitted to carry jump 2 drop tanks for additional range. Their internal fuel supply includes enough fuel for three jumps with an additional 425 ton reserve for servicing other vessels.
