On Rissa (world) Colonel Ryan formed his regiment with an eye toward economy of force. He feels that infantry is the key. He built the unit around a block of 1,000 soldiers in ten infantry companies. The troops have different levels of armor based on their experience. The best troops get the best armor, and the recruits have to live long enough to earn their place. All of the infantry get a 0.2kg tactical helmet with a 20 power radio and IR/LI googles for 950 Credits each. In each company of 100 troopers the best 20 get CES(6) for 1,000Cr. each. Sixty get cloth armor (5) for 250 Cr. each, and the 20 recruits get flak jackets(3) for 100 Cr. each. Each company gets 100 0.4kg non-metallic Claymore anti-personnel mines with wire/laser/radio command links, PEN 3, 5cm danger space (608Cr. each), ten 9mm ACRs and ninety 7mm ACRs.
