System data

The primary is Sanadin, an ordinary red main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.0268 Sols, a mass of 0.4258 Sols, and a diameter of 658,000 km. (I) Manaqua, an exotic atmosphere world, orbits within the habitable zone: Bethurm is its largest satellite and is designated the mainworld. (II) a dense stony planetoid belt, (III, IV) two small gas giants, (V) an exotic atmosphere world, and (VI, VII) two small icy vacuum worlds form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

The companion is Pequan, a dim red subgiant star. It has a luminosity of 0.0056 Sols, a mass of 0.124 Sols, and a diameter of 229,000 km. It orbits Sanadin at a mean distance of 1150 AU (orbital position (XIV), 170 billion km). (I) an icy trace atmosphere world, (II) a sparse icy planetoid belt, (III) a small gas giant, and (IV) an icy vacuum world form the outer system. Only the gas giant retains satellites.

(I) Manaqua

(I) Manaqua orbits Sanadin at a mean distance of 0.23 AU (34.4 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 61 days 18 hours and has a rotation period of 33 hours. The axial tilt is 12 degrees. Manaqua has a diameter of 6,625 km, a density of 4.75 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.45 G. Its atmosphere is rated as Exotic, with a mean surface pressure of 1.43 bar and a composition of 89% carbon dioxide, 9% nitrogen, 1% argon, and 1% water vapour, ammonia, methane and other trace gases. The world has no hydrographics. Mean surface temperature: 43°C. The atmosphere is violent and powerful weather systems, driven by the star and the seas, drive across the globe. The climate is seasonal and weather patterns follow regular cycles during the local year.

History & Background (Dossier)

No information yet available.

World starport

Bethurm has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level

Bethurm possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World government

Bethurm is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions within the government. These positions are inherited by members of the group or by their relatives. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
