Numbered Imperial fleet stationed in Rhylanor Subsector.

History

The 23rd was stationed in Vilis prior to the Fifth Frontier War. With no fleet stationed in the neighboring Lanth subsector at that time, the defense of Lanth itself was one of the 23rd's responsibilities, but it was mostly oriented towards the Zhodani. When the war started, the Sword Worlders' Gram Fleet thrust forward and invested Lanth. Units were hastily transferred to Ficant, but no relief of Lanth was possible, as the Zhodani 40th and 15th fleets pressed from one side and the Joyeuse and Gram fleets threatened from the other. By the end of 1108, the 23rd was completely surrounded. Although the 23rd remained surrounded until the end of the war, the thrust of the Zhodani 40th Fleet towards Rhylanor combined by the pressure exercised on the Sword Worlders by the 100th, the 213th, and the 214th allowed it to expand the territory it controlled and to put enough pressure on the Joyeuse Fleet to allow the Darrians to recapture the Entropic Worlds.

In the post-war fleet shuffle, the 23rd was moved to Rhylanor subsector.
