Build at Jarnac for the Jarnac Pashalic which partially lies in the Spinward Drift Subsector of the The Beyond Sector. This is a class of TL–13 System Defense Boat with the best armor available to take heavy punishment. It has the best 6G maneuver drive and an oversized fusion power plant for maximum evasive agility. It is armed with a pair of short ranged fusion cannons in the nose, a triple beam laser turret and a triple missile turret. The Jarnac Pashalic Navy relies on this class to protect starports and native shipping in systems it controls. They can also provide close gunship support for marine units. There are 171 of these ships organized into 19 squadrons of 9 ships each. They are each assigned to a Jarnac Class Dreadnought for inter-system transport and redeployment. The crew includes a pilot/captain, a navigator/sensor ops, a medic/science officer, four engineers and four gunners and a single marine. The marine helps with damage control and routine maintenance (read cleaning). They have been pressed into service as cooks on occasion. During hostile action they conduct EVA, float over to enemy hulls, set charges to blow holes in enemy ships and conduct boarding actions.
