Aoki is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- This world is part of the Aslan Hierate, as a single multiple-world clan dominate, in the Ryuhleiea Subsector of Riftspan Reaches Sector.
- This world has an Aslan Tlaukhu Base, which may combine the features of an army base for ground forces, a scout base, or even a naval base for starships.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This system is part of the Central Riftspan Cluster.
Stellar Data[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Part of the J-5 Trans-Rift Hierate Route.
Aoki is the entry point to the cluster of the trans-rift route. Its ownership has changed hands several times either because of conquest or the shifting favour of the Tlaukhu factions. Upon occasion, control of Aoki has been gifted to a clan that has then been forced to fight for possession against current occupants. To be found 'too weak to take Aoki' is a slur on a clan's reputation or a truthful assessment, depending on the circumstances.
The Tlaukhu naval base on Aoki is nominally independent of the world's ruling clan. There have been occasions where Aoki and its naval base effectively besieged one another, making life difficult for passing vessels.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Aoki has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Aoki has a population of 60,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
- The population consists of Aslan.
World Languages[edit]
- Trokh: The universal language of the modern Aslan monoculture.
- Aslan Languages: Note that some Aslan clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.
Urbanization[edit]
Aslan architecture tends to the organic and the rounded. They favour artistry over efficiency in the design of their buildings -- every Aslan structure is different. Even in mass-produced housing, residents will strive to make their territory uniquely theirs.
- Since Aslan descend from predators and enjoy open terrain, their buildings often feature both open rooms of great size and a number of concealed rooms, balconies, hidden passageways and hideaways.
World Government (G)[edit]
Aoki is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
