Spume is a poor, low-population, non-industrial desert world located in the Darrian Group in Darrian Subsector of the Spinward Marches. The Te-Zlodh name for this world is Zbume, which means "golden," the color of the world's tainted atmosphere. A Darrian Confederation world, Spume, like Anselhome (Spinward Marches 0820), was colonized for resources rather than comfort. Its atmosphere is polluted with radioactive gases from its few volcanoes. All inhabitants live in Dryavis, a domed village from which mining machines are directed by remote systems. These machines sometimes refuel at a lake near the village.

The Spume system contains a Darrian Confederation military base. A squadron of the Darrian Navy is anchored here.
