Description

Touchdown saw no purpose to an army when the first settlers landed on New Earth. Indeed, the security section from The Fleet acted more as a Police and Park Ranger service than anything else for many years. The Touchdown Army was first started as an armed anti-theft group because the resources of the initial settlements were being stolen by those heading out into the wilderness to set out away from the colonial Governor's oversight.

The unofficial formation of the Army of Llamas in 40 spurred Governor Oscar Nyeri to designate half the armed response group as an Army the following year. It had nowhere near the personnel needed to fill out the T.O.& E. agreed.

By 45 the Army consisted of two platoons of light infantry and one of mounted infantry, with a headquarters with dept, comms and a sapper sections. At the time, the Army had a Colonel, a Major, two Captains and three Lieutenants.

The Army's first operational deployment outside Touchdown started in 55 and saw a whole platoon provided to help police the cease-fire line between New Heaven and Shelter.
