The war was marked by Firstworlds mismanagement and military incompetence.
History
Poor reconnisance and intelligence led to disasterous losses and ultimately the loss of territory. Scybrian forces were able to sweep aside opposition and in a series of well coordinated strikes occupied much of the Far Home side of the Rissa Gateway. A Firstworlds withdrawal became a rout. Scybrian forces launched raids on Tal Varisa.
Scybria, with vast numbers of troops committed to the Occupation, decides to withdraw to defensible Rissa. It institutes a “scorched earth” policy, destroying defenses, facilities and infrastructure as it pulls back. The Firstworlds reoccupies the worlds but the war turns into little more than naval skirmishing, bombing, and occasional surface raids.
