Occupation

5449AD–5473AD. Part of the Mid War period of the Scybrian Wars. A 24-year occupation by Scybrian forces of worlds within the Nist cluster and along the border of the Corolian Jurisdicture following the Invasion. Although local governments were allowed to remain in place, they were administered by repressive Sybrian military authorities. Almost immediately there were uprisings and the Scybrian military responded with force.

Guerilla warfare broke out and attacks against the occupiers (or acts of terrorism, depending on the point of view) occurred on an almost daily basis. Commerce raiding against Scybrian shipping began though the allegiance of the corsairs was impossible to prove. The occupation eventually became open warfare, with Scybrian forces barely controlling major urban centers and transport hubs, and the increasingly organised and well-equipped resistance forces holding vast tracts of agricultural land and wilderness. The Occupation drew in increasing numbers of Scybrian troops and resources. It was ended by the War of Corolian Liberation.
