In the alternate timeline of Milieu 1120, Marc Chissano was a leader of the Radical bloc of the Solomani Party and served as Secretary General of the Solomani Confederation from 1120 until being deposed by Nationalist leader Jan Malikov and his dissident coalition in 1122.

Chissano's homeworld of Twilight (Aldebaran 0912) was a dictatorship ruled by his family until a junta overthrew the government in 1121. The new government then recalled Chiassano as their representative to the Secretariat, creating a constitutional crisis for the Confederation. After a brief but violent series of internal clashes which included naval battles, Chissano was removed from office. While the new Confederation government claimed he was in custody awaiting trial on charges of treason, rumors insisted he had escaped and was still abroad somewhere within the Confederation.
