Argi is a poor, non-agricultural, high-population desert world, with a billion or more sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.

• This world has no free-standing water.
• It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
• Despite this world's industrial prowess, it remains poor. Some blame this on the high prices of food, which must be imported. Others blame the nature of a desert world. Whatever the reason, something needs to change in order for this world to prosper.
• It is a mainworld which is a satellite of either a gas giant or another world.
• The world serves as the subsector capital with the significant extra trade and prestige associated with that role.
• This is a "high technology" world with technology achievements at, near, or above the standard for Charted Space.
• It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector in the Domain of Vland.
• This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
• It also has an Imperial Scout base, capable of handling IISS starships and personnel.

This world is the satellite of a gas giant, 'Argi.

Argi has two stars in the star system.

History & Background (Dossier)

Argi is the largest manufacturer of technical equipment within the sector.

The planet was originally colonized by Vilani nobles during the First Imperium and retained much of their technology during the Long Night. This evolved into the Aakhri Empire which perverted the Vilani caste system into a slave based republic. The Empire used its technology to enslave much of Argi and Sapphyre subsectors. Over the centuries they became dependent on their slaves for every aspect of their life, including military service. At the time of their collapse the planetary population was composed mainly of slaves ruled over by a small, decadent master class. The revolt when it occurred was quick and bloody. The surviving Aakhri families were forbidden to ever again hold property or position. Most Argian's are descendants of the freed slaves and the few remaining Aakhrian’s are only to be found in menial positions or acting as “Servicians” - prostitutes. Aakhrian’s can only leave Argi if they supply a MCr1 bond to “re-pay” the Argian people for their historical suffering. Most Argian's (except Aakhrian’s) wear silver torcs encoded with their clan, occupation and status using an eight band colour code, as a reminder of their origins.

Local Nobility

Argi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial Landed Knight who acts as an Imperial representative to the world, and the fiefdoms of two members of the Imperial Landed Nobility, who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level.
