Sharrip is a low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in size.
- This world has yet to take off economically or otherwise and the population remains low for reasons largely unknown.
- It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Lunion Subsector of Spinward Marches Sector in the Domain of Deneb.

Sharrip has a thin oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere tainted by sulfur compounds, and a chilly climate.
- Sharrip is a planet with very modest mineral wealth and a complete lack of indigenous life.
- The atmosphere originally consisted mostly of carbon dioxide and due to the greenhouse effect the temperatures were very high.
History & Background (Dossier)
A low-population Imperial world in the Lunion Subsector of the Spinward Marches.
- Sharrip population consists of the minimal support staff for the starport.
- In 149 the planet is the subject of a terraforming project aimed at turning the atmosphere into a breathable one by seeding the planet with specially tailored plankton-like vegetation.
- By 1047 the project was far enough ahead that an unprotected human can breathe the air - it just isn't very pleasant - and the project advanced to the next stage, that of establishing plant life on land.
