Geschichtkreis Sternschiffbau AG(GsbAG) is one of the thirteen Imperial Megacorporations and one of two firms charged with the manufacture of the personal vessels of the Imperial family and is a major contractor for the Imperial military. Their products command extremely high prices, but it is generally conceded that the quality makes them well worth it.[1]
According to company propaganda, the company was founded in -2438 from a consortium of old Terran manufacturing firms. In actual fact, there is no concrete evidence of the corporation's existence prior to a contract with the Sylean Federation Navy in -334.[1]
Unlike other manufacturers, GSbAG has restricted itself almost exclusively to the manufacture of starships since its earliest known existence.[2]
GSbAG is a clearing-house for recruitment of crews and personnel, and operates one of the finest naval architecture services in known space. GSbAG scholarships are awarded to promising students in the hard sciences and naval architecture schools throughout the Imperium. GSbAG is well-known for the quality and zeal of its security force, especially in the field of industrial counterespionage. [3]
