The New Libdis-Pindur Main is an astrographic feature, a main located in the Dark Nebula and Magyar sectors. It is known in popular Human culture as the Savage Main.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

New Libdis-Pindur Main is a main of sixty-six systems extending through seven subsectors.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The popular alternative name "Savage Main" is tied to popular culture on Terran-descended Human worlds. In 290 a lurid fantasy novel by Sol Altamura of Beagle was published: The Savage Main. This was an ahistorical, swashbuckling adventure set on the edge of Aslan space, featuring low-tech Human warriors and psionics. Over the next 200 years it spawned an entire genre of 'Aslanic Romance'.

The Solomani steadily absorbed independent worlds throughout the 700s, until by the early 800s only a few "Savage Main" worlds had not been incorporated into the Solomani sphere of influence.

The highest population world on the main, with approximately twenty billion inhabitants, is New Lidbis (Kimson's Stand Subsector), 2922).

The main is oriented in a spinward-rimward to coreward-trailing direction.
