History & Background (Dossier)

This barren moon was the site of a disaster in 678, when the massive starliner Tsalish lost its manoeuvre drive during refuelling, possibly due to sabotage, and crashed into the moon (rather than fall into the gas giant), killing thousands instantly. The survivors, among which were a significant number of the engineering crew, worked to salvage what they needed to remain alive.

By 778, a century after Draits (literally, ‘the Landing’), an expanding colony of rugged survivors occupied the moon, especially the area around a large ice-cap at the southern pole, which was the main source of water.

In 997, while on exercises in the system, the Zhodani Navy was startled when hailed on the Consulate emergency channel in very clear Zdetl.

World Starport

Yedrvrakl has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

As part of a boosting project, work has begun on a new starport, and the sector council is embarking on serious discussions about constructing a relay station on Yedrvrakl.
