Tironar is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Ragol Subsector of Course Sector.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.

System Data[edit]

Labell-Tironar System[edit]

The primary is Labell, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.47 Sols, a mass of 0.848 Sols, and a diameter of 1.264 million km. The inner system consists of (I) a vacuum worldlet, and (II) a dense atmosphere stormworld. (III) Tironar orbits within the habitable zone and is designated the mainworld. (IV) a thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) a small gas giant, (VI) a very thin atmosphere iceworld, and (VII) a vacuum worldlet form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.

Mainworld Data[edit]

(III) Tironar[edit]

(III) Tironar is designated the mainworld. It orbits Labell at a mean distance of 0.81 AU (121.2 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 289 days 4 hours and a rotation period of 26.5 hours. The axial tilt is 13 degrees. Tironar has a diameter of 7,377 km, a density of 5.47 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.57 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Thin, Tainted, with a mean surface pressure of 0.56 bar and a composition of 84% nitrogen (N2), 15% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapour (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. The taint is caused by the low percentage of atmospheric oxygen. Approximately 68% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water and extensive ice-caps: average tidal ranges exceed 0.3m. Mean surface temperature: -5°C. The climate is rated as Cold and experiences minor seasonal changes during the local year. The atmosphere is sluggish and moderate weather systems driven by the star and the oceans work across the globe.

Mainworld Geography and Topography[edit]

Total surface area: 171 million km², Water surface area: 116 million km², Land surface area: 55 million km².

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Labell-Tironar System[edit]

The hot stormworld lying in orbital position (II) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and moisture. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

Tironar, the mainworld, has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (IV) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.

No other world in the Tironar system is known to have native life.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

No information yet available.

World starport[edit]

Tironar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World technology level[edit]

Tironar possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.

World government[edit]

Tironar is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to write the policies voted on. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by voting population.
