Major Historical Events Timeline: 1200[edit]
The Union of Meizirn is a trade and mutual defense alliance established in the late 450s. Non-aligned, and preferring to exploit its strategic location, the Union attracts a good deal of trade. The central government is weak and ineffectual, and local planetary authorities are susceptible to corruption and bribery by smugglers and pirates. Quarantine regulations are barely observed here, despite the threat of Regency or Corellian sanction. The Union is at one end of the "Gold Road" of Regency trade connections that lead back to the "Rand", Five Sisters and Plankwell Subsectors. Consequently, as long as this trade continues to fill the Union's coffers, and benefit the Regency, no incentive exists to clean up local government.
Camaguey (0409) was settled around -430 by Solomani from Daibei Sector fleeing the Long Night. Its warm climate and mild weather has long made it a trade hub, and the locals used the money and investment to build up their technology. A TL 15 world before the Collapse, the locals attained TL 16 about five years ago, a development sure to add pressure on the Regency and its policy to keep tech development capped at TL 15. The worlds main product are advanced materials for construction, manufacturing and processing purposes.
Niprdezh (0101) and Chazarsia (0107) are both inhabited by the descendants of renegade or runaway Zhodani. Both worlds are pro-psionic, but do not recognise those powers as a qualification for elite status. Both worlds were under heavy scrutiny by the Consulate and its security services before the Exodus, for fear that they would infect the Zhodani mainstream with their views.
