Tareeirii

The region known as the Tareeirii (alternately the Tareeiri Waste or the Devastation of Thirty) is an astrographic feature primarily located in Ruupiin Sector. The additional 'i' on the end of the name differentiates the Waste and the subsector from the supernova remnant, and translates literally from !Kee as "reach" or "lair", while colloquially carrying the meanings mentioned above.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Encompassing a zone with a radius of ten to fifteen parsecs, the Waste is centered far from the current location of the neutron star that is the last remnant of the supernova that created it. The star was a nomad within the local star cluster, and was located in or near Ruupiin 0920 when the supernova occurred. That region is now littered with new star systems and the burnt wreckage of several previously existing systems. Farther away, systems were irradiated and, later, bombarded with dust and gas at high velocity. Most systems within 30 light years were sterilized or nearly so. A few benefitted from a coincidence of system polar orientation, and were able to retain some life.

The Waste is not a visible region any longer, as the supernova remnant has expanded and cooled in the three million years since. The Waste is identified by the dominance of Kiruform life to the exclusion of all else (as the K'kree have Kiruformed extensively), and the telltale signs of melted rock found on most planetary bodies in the region.
