Talk:USA Army Brigade

Hi

Would this information happen to be part of a personal campaign? If so, there is a separate namespace for such things starting "Campaign:XXX/" where XXX is the ID of your campaign. If it is in the main namespace it is likely to get updated to describe a real life USA brigade and lose the unrelated social info.

Ronald B. Kline, Jr. (talk) 20:21, 19 September 2020 (EDT)United States of Arcola is part of my campaign. What would you like the page to be named? Unofficial (world) is the system. Is there a problem? ID for the campaign? What sort of update did you have in mind and for what purpose?

I'm just conscious that the "Rules" state that stuff that is personal should be placed in a "Campaign" name space...I suspect that your stuff has been running for years and the work to move it would be non-trivial BackworldTraveller (talk) 14:23, 20 September 2020 (EDT)

Ronald B. Kline, Jr. (talk) 15:55, 20 September 2020 (EDT)The whole point of the Unofficial campaign materials were to be so far from the beaten path as to go unnoticed by more mainstream travellers. Have you looked at the map to see where my world is? I was hiding in a tiny remote corner of the universe struggling to avoid detection. Over the years I have tried to discretely insert a whole host of materials into nooks and crannies over the years, ships, fleets, armies, organisms, navies, mercenaries, vehicles, and planets. I was equal parts unaware of the rules infraction and that I was in someone's way. How would you like me to proceed? I though that personal stuff was just non cannon, not official and your mileage may vary. Previous administration seemed content with that point of view.

The query I got was concerned with the title "USA Army Brigade" being confused with "United States of America Army Brigade", and a similar query about the GRU Military. The concern is visibility to the readers of the wiki, not players in the Traveller games. We were discussion two options for addressing this.
The first, brought up by Backwater Traveller, was to move of the material into Campaign namespace. See Campaign:Example for an example and some directions for how this might work. As you point out there are bits and pieces all over the wiki and gathering them and moving them would be a huge task.
For the specific problem here I would like to recommend renaming this article to "United States of Arcola Army Brigade" to avoid further confusion. If I follow the world setup correctly it could be "Gru Military" (case differences) or "Nation of Gru Military".
Mostly we're trying to figure out the balance between and ATU and a personal campaign and would appreciate feedback on what makes the most sense to you. Tjoneslo (talk) 18:39, 20 September 2020 (EDT)
