A localised language dating from the Second Imperium, when Human colonists settled on Tashrakaar. Over the course of the Long Night, it developed as distinct from its root languages.
Takaar was derived from Anglic, with influence from Common Iltharan; the planet name Tashrakaar was Iltharan.
Lexicon[edit]
- Chu-ahr alla ahr Nund: "Place of the grey-metal cliffs"
- k'Ramaak tar-Tharish: Boreal Sea, literally "waters from north", colloquially "Water-from-heavens"
- Kah-lul: A shaman, a position of note among the desert tribes.
- Kerr-klerr hu: "Deep Roots"; tribes who have settled at oases
- Serik: An animal, used as a beast of burden
- Shek-khoul: A deification of the periodic weather conditions known as "devilblows".
- Thar: Water; plural (as used for large bodies of water), tharish

Social Use[edit]
Most civilized Tashrakaarans speak both Takaar and one of several widely-understood varieties of Galanglic, so there is no problem communicating with them.
