In 1098, the sophont status of the aquatic lifeforms known as Kiiroka, native to nearby Vras, was recognized immediately by Dr. Darch von Changli when he transported several to Schall for study.

• The Marquis of Vras (Old Expanses 0738) initially suppressed the news and planned to exterminate the Kiiroka population on his planet. Before a genocide could take place, the coverup was exposed and the race in question, now known to Humans as the Schalli despite not being from this world, became Imperial citizens.
