History & Background (Dossier)

The Principality of Bruhkar has been an Imperial Client State for 250 years. It thrived under the umbrella of Imperial protection. However, cracks began to appear about 100 years ago with the death of Prince Valendor. He had no direct heirs. The Bruhkarran Assembly, a group of the most powerful nobles in the Principality, fought over the succession. Eventually a compromise was reached which put the Romaran House in charge. This house was a minor noble house with very little political power. It produced a string of ruling Princes who ruled only as long as the Assembly was happy.

Now, as external forces are beginning to put on pressure, the Principality is riddled with dissension and blood feuds between noble houses. There have been a dozen small scale shooting wars in the last ten years. Death duels and assassinations have cut down many strong leaders.

Visitors could find this area dangerous. Although fighting usually only involves house forces of the nobility, bystanders can be caught in the crossfire. However, a merchant dealing in weapons or mercenaries could do well in the fighting in this region.
