History & Background (Dossier)

Oudhurlongkou represents a failed attempt to erect mining interests on an already mineral-poor cluster of shattered planets. The presence of two erratic stars and an eccentric and declined orbiting group of five Gas Giants has ripped apart the smaller terrestrial planets in this system.

The lack of post-survey interest, initial infrastructure, support or supply traffic has caused Oudhurlongkou to earn a Failing status with a Tech Level deficiency of -3. The very few Prospectors can freely mine the remnant planetoid clusters, liberated from government or tariff. However, the miners must carefully skirt around the local Corsair Base or else suffer an attack. The brazen Corsair band or bands (the Navy is unsure of their exact numbers) are mainly concerned with raiding other worlds or slaving, unwilling to waste resources raiding probably abandoned facilities or sporadic and intermittent mining operations.

World Economy

Oudhurlongkou has no true planetoid belts. The only mining draw is minimal and centered on planetoid fragments of former planets in the inner system. The five Gas Giants are too numerous for the local Corsairs to cover fully, allowing fuel skimming by misjumping vessels and tramp traders seeking a route for smuggling or out of the way pathing.
