Nihongo (language)
Nihongo is a language from old Terra, that the early Terrans spread to the stars during the Rule of Man.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Nihongo is a dialect of a Solomani language subfamily usually known in Anglic as "Japanese". While Nihongo is by far the primary dialect, several ancient minor dialects have survived and/or been synthetically reconstructed on certain worlds and regions with strong ethnic ties and background to Terra's ancient history. These Ryukyuan dialects are also listed below:

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Nihongo, along with it's variant dialects, were historically grouped by Ancient Terran linguists as belonging to the Japonic subfamily of languages. This language subfamily had its origins in a series of islands off the eastern coast of Terra's Eurasian continent, a location anciently known for its commercial engineering enterprise and technological innovation. As pre-starflight Terra waxed in its industrial and technological prowess, the peoples of this region naturally contributed significantly toward Ancient Terra's quest for the stars and spread with them as they expanded outward, naturally influencing later Solomani languages and dialects.
