Muugagen is a poor, nonindustrial world.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • This world has few prospects for economic development.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Ian Subsector of Corridor Sector in the Domain of Vland.
  • Once known as Amki.

Description (Planetology)[edit]

Flora and Fauna[edit]

This is the homeworld of the unlikely, flying Muugagen pigbird[2]. These are small enough to be exported as pets and have gone feral on several nearby worlds.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Pre-Imperium/Imperium[edit]

  • This world was colonized by and is controlled from Kiran (Corridor 0112). This formed a J2 link between Kilii Ar (later Kiran (Corridor 0112)) and Kiiama (later Kumorie (Corridor 0112)). The world was hardly affected by the Denebian spotted fever outbreak that so devastated the worlds at each end of this trade route.

High Nobility[edit]

Muugagen, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Nobility overseeing the world.

The Knight's estate is on a small island at about 65 degrees south. This was hurriedly abandoned when the arrival of the Dzarrgh Federate appeared imminent, and looted by the Vargr thereafter.

Hard Times[edit]

  • This world was taken by Dzarrgh Federate in 1118 who just replace the Kirani Government with their own Governor.

Collapse[edit]

  • The Virus has little effect on the planet's population, an Empire Builder strain replacing the Dzarrgh Federate in 1139 and a Puppeteer strain briefly taking over some time after that. The populations response is to destroy what it can (including the starport beacons), shutdown whatever electrical power sources it could find and revert to the steam-age. While it can't fight the starships, it doesn't help them either.
