The star Muphrid (otherwise known as Saak and Eta Boötis) is a yellow-white subgiant star of spectral type G0.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Muphrid is only about 1.0 pc distant from the star Arcturus (Alpha Boötis), and an observer in the Muphrid system would observe Arcturus with a visual magnitude of −4.5 (which is as bright as Venus as seen in the Terran night sky).

  • The Muphrid star system is approximately 11.4pc from Terra, and is located in a Coreward/Coretrailing direction from Terra at bearing 005.3o Galactic Longitude and +73.0o North Galactic Latitude.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

  • (Non-Canonical): Though it lies along roughly the same bearing from the Sol system, Muphrid is NOT the primary star of the world Muphrid/Linnae (Leonidae 1220), which is nearly 10 times as far away as the star Eta Boötis.
  • (Non-Canonical): Based on the specifications listed above, it is likely that Muphrid is the primary star of the world Aqilat/Banasdan (Solomani Rim 2820), which lies 1.0pc distant from Arcturus and orbits a G0 IV star.
