The Mikikuma Subsector is Subsector E of Ktiin'gzat Sector.
Description[edit]
With three Vargr Naval Bases across Mikikuma Subsector and zero Corsair Bases, piracy here is the lowest within Ktiin'gzat Sector. In fact, Mikikuma is the 'quietest' of the subsectors of Ktiin'gzat. Its twelve worlds were passed over in a rushed exodus from Gashikan Sector and Trenchans Sector to escape the Wolvesbane Project. The empty parsecs of Mikikuma provided helpful firebreak stopgaps to that bioengineered weapon, which slaughtered all canines in Gashikan and threatened to spill over into the surrounding region. Fear and exodus panic caused Mikikuma to be passed over by the escaping Suedzuk Vargr moving trailing from the Second Empire of Gashikan; they fled further to the Vargr Enclaves.
The worlds in Mikikuma have retained their First Imperium names throughout, the Vargr uninterested in renaming them.
Today, Mikikuma Subsector is home to brave Vargr washing back toward Trenchans Sector to slowly re-colonize and develop the twelve worlds here. Trade and commerce is limited to vessels with two-parsec jump range. Trade with the Third Empire of Gashikan occurs, with great distrust on the part of both Vargr and the Humaniti to spinward. Mikikuma is one of two subsectors in Ktiin'gzat immediately trailing the Third Empire of Gashikan and the only subsector where Vargr can cross the border by issued (and expensive) travel and work visas.
Though there are incentives offered to Vargr to return to Mikikuma Subsector, the lingering superstition and fear of Wolvesbane has slowed the staffing of A-rated Starports in need of personnel. Only three of the four starship drydocks can produce vessels with any regularity and only during lulls in interstellar traffic. Fuanagoksoaztok, rated a Starport B, has the best services for its Tech Level and staffing despite its Balkanized government. Specialists there use waterborne docks and piers to provide maintenance, annual overhauls and life support services with the highest reviews in the subsector.
The Vargr Naval Bases of Mikikuma Subsector are purposely kept distant from the border of the Third Empire of Gashikan, whose border worlds are swarming with Scout vessels eager to cry an alarm of a Suedzuk incursion. Vargr Patrols are a monthly affair and sometimes become quarterly due to quiet seasons where traffic is lowest.
Astrographic Features & Trade Routes: 1105[edit]
The following astrographic features, trade routes, mains, clusters, and traces can be found within this area:
- Mikikuma Subsector lies directly coreward of the Mikikuma Nothingness, a medium swath of empty parsecs of space. The Nothingness reaches into Ilakhegiki Subsector and is known by another name there (true to Vargr lack of nomenclature cohesion).
- Oloil Cluster: One system, at the coreward border.
World Listing[edit]
- Gurkizapgaku has the highest Tech Level at C.
- Anulidigenur has the lowest Tech Level at 4 and is listed as Doomed for its Tech deficiency. It is currently under evacuation to nearby Gekhikhar.
- At 30 billion sophonts, Fuanagoksoaztok has the highest population.
- Trerz, with 30 sophonts, has a lower population than the Asteroid world Olknuaghuth (with 70 sophonts).

- Hhraki: Also known as Hhkarn; the primary language of the Hhkar. Hhkar travel frequently and may be found wandering the region.
- Modern Gashikan: The primary language of the Third Empire of Gashikan, immediately to spinward, influenced heavily by Anglic and Vilani.
- Raxkiir: A language developed by clients of the K'kree, a heavily derived variant of !kee suitable for humanoid use.
