History & Background (Dossier)

In ancient times (during the First Imperium, Second Imperium, and Long Night, when most starfaring peoples were generally limited to Jump-1 and Jump-2 capabilities) the Mendan Micro Rift effectively separated the major worlds of the Sarkan Subsector, Lumda Subsector, Ikdalon Subsector, and Lasla Subsector. During the era of the Third Imperium, with many starships capable of Jump-3 or better, this Micro Rift is now considered to be less of an obstacle.

This astrographic feature is primarily located in the following areas:

• Mendan Sector
  • Ikdalon Subsector
  • Lasla Subsector

This micro rift lies generally between the Pirbarish Starlane of the Julian Protectorate and the Antares Pact of the Vargr Extents, near the border with the Domain of Antares of the Third Imperium.
