Masiruu is a ring of many small planetoids not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water. The system has a population between 10,000 and 10 million, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Arnakhish Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Masiruu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Nadvluur Khuum.

System Data[edit]

Masiruu is two separate star systems approximately 5,000 AU apart. The extensive asteroid belt designated as the mainworld orbits the secondary star in the system. It contains a significant number of large nickel-iron bodies and is a major source of industrial quality metals and minerals.

One enormous rock has been hollowed out and serves as the starport. Known locally as Primus, it is run by a matriarch who controls an extensive bureaucracy. Various Megacorporations and mining consortiums work areas of the belt. All pay heavy duties and taxes to the Matriarch for the privilege of a mining license. The port includes an Imperial Navy reserve base which houses destroyer escorts from 2318th and 2319th patrol flotillas.

The system's primary, an orange main sequence star called Urudu, has a family of three planets and one gas giant. Kinshasa, the innermost of the three planets, has a temperate climate, native life, and an independent government. Kinshasa was once designated the mainworld, but with continued growth within the Masiruu asteroid belt emphasis has shifted away from it.

History and Background[edit]

The community on Primus rely on Kinshasa for bulk food shipments, and Kinshasa makes sure that it receives fair payment.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Masiruu has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
