Khulim is a world suited to becoming an agricultural world, but with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 sophonts it lacks the capability to produce or process sufficient resources to export its projected agricultural produce. The world is tropical with a hot, though still habitable, climate at the upper limits of human comfort. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Argi Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Khulim, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and a baronet. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world has a nearby Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships. During the Long Night this world was named Giikhapuur.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]

The world's landmass consists of a single continent; a jungle consisting mainly of fungus and lichen covers most of it.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

The spores released by the massive jungles of fungus render the air unbreathable for two months a year and they can lodge in an individual's lungs, growing inside, slowly suffocating the carrier.

History and Background[edit]

Due to the dangers involved, only indentured personnel actually stay on the planet. The companies maintain bases in order to search for and gather various fungus but in particular the large fungi known as Golden Spores which can restore vitality and health (but not youth or regeneration) to the human organism.

The naval base hosts elements of the 159th Fleet.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Khulim has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Khulim has a population of 80,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Khulim possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Khulim is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.

World Law (L)[edit]

Khulim has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
