Kendyth is an agricultural, nonindustrial, and pre-rich garden world with a near-ideal, utopian environment conducive to most sophonts.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- Its economy and population are growing and living conditions are expected to incrementally rise barring outside forces. The world will grow even quicker when its industrial sector begins to develop.
- It is a member of the Sha Elden Lith Kindriu in the Torrent Subsector of Numbis Sector.
- This world is a colony of, and is controlled from, Lishyn.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
System Data[edit]
History & Background[edit]
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Kendyth has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Kendyth has a population of 600,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
World Demographics[edit]
- Lithkind, 95%
- As with any Lithkind world, society is split between separate, complimentary male and female settlements, divided by the "Crimson Wall", both a physical and a conceptual divide.
World Languages[edit]
World Government (G)[edit]
Kendyth has a Captive Government or Colony. The world is ruled by an external government, there is no self-rule. This is a colony or conquered area. The local government is an oligarchy appointed by, and answerable only to, the external government.
Governance of this world is from Lishyn.
World Military[edit]
- Legion of Midnight (Infantry and Air-Space Transport, female)
- Legion of Starlight (Navy, male)
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Kendyth has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. All firearms except shotguns, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
Law emphasizes settlement between individuals and clans rather than state authority. Because of their belief in reincarnation, Lithkind have been known to continue blood-debts and blood-feuds that last centuries. In an effort to control bloodshed, a justified blood-feud (known as an ariseth) is legally recognized if registered with local government bodies.
In Lithkind society, almost everyone carries some form of weapon, even if it's only a ceremonial knife or needler.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Kendyth possesses a Technology Level of TL–8.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics, improved telephones, and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Improved geothermal and improved batteries.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Advanced automobiles.
- Water: Triphibians and early artificial gills.
- Air: Improved helicopters and hypersonic jets.
- Space: Space shuttles, early space stations, and improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Culture[edit]
At the heart of the Lithkind belief system is faith in reincarnation. When a child claws its way from the mother's womb, it is assumed to be the reincarnation of its father (if male) or mother (if female). When the litter is larger, it is assumed that the souls have "split" among the children -- this is a good sign, showing that the parents' souls have grown in strength.
Many Lithkind are believers in Xyastra, a complex astrological and necromantic system, in which sympathetic magic is supposedly used to alter probability.
