Jeremiah is a preindustrial world with a moderate population of over a hundred million, but not yet a billion sophonts.
- As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
- This is a hot world, with a climate of high temperatures.
- It is a member of the Corellan League in the Freya Subsector of Beyond Sector.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This system is located on the Freyan Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Topography and Geography[edit]
Jeremiah has a single supercontinent, the interior desert. In some regions, sandstorms can make the air unbreathable for days at a time.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Humans first settled Jeremiah in 557.
This world hosts one of the principal research centers of the corporation, Delta Research, including the famous LHeP(Or) Colony which engages in groundbreaking organic computing technology research. [2] [3]
The Jerimiahan Revelationist Congregation, which emphasized large families and curt speech, moved to Garr and in time became the largest and most powerful demographic there.
World Starport[edit]
Jeremiah has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The common language is "Corellan Galanglic", a distinct dialect of Anglic.
Urbanization[edit]
Most residents live in low-density cities sheltered in river valleys away from the sandstorms or the coastal weather.
World Government (G)[edit]
Jeremiah is governed by a Religious Dictatorship. The leadership of the government is another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy). There is a powerful independent organization, the state religion, which has influence or direct control of the government. Like the bureaucratic governments this may simply be a strong influence with a secular government, be direct influence by virtue of controlling who may be in the leadership, or be a direct theocracy where the church leadership and bureaucracy is the government.
As a full member of the Corellan League, Jeremiah sends two representatives to the League Assembly, which convenes aboard the Capital Orbital habitat, a station in geosynchronous orbit above Corella.
Military[edit]
Jeremiah produces, under licence from Valhalla, Acrux-class heavy cruisers.
